Bóndavarðan liegt auf dem Bóndavörðuhraun, etwas außerhalb von Djúpivogur. Es wurde möglicherweise ursprünglich nach den verheerenden nordafrikanischen Piratenüberfällen von 1627 als Aussichtspunkt errichtet. Heute weist ein Aussichtspunktschild auf markante Punkte hin, die vom Bergrücken aus sichtbar sind.
