Illugastaðir im Westen von Vatnsnes ist ein etablierter Beobachtungsplatz für Wildtiere, wo man oft Robben beim Ausruhen auf Felsen oder beim Schwimmen im Meer beobachten kann. Ein Pfad führt zum Aussichtspunkt, und ein Unterstand bietet Schutz vor schlechtem Wetter.
