Sandvík ist ein breiter, schwarzer Sandstrand im innersten Teil des Vopnafjörður. Das Versorgungsschiff Mávurinn lief hier im Oktober 1981 auf Grund, und Spuren des Wracks sind bei Ebbe noch immer sichtbar. Der Strand ist beliebt zum Spazierengehen, zur Vogelbeobachtung und für Familienausflüge.
