WHY VISIT

About Flögufoss

Flögufoss drops approximately 60 metres from Flöguá and is the highest waterfall in Breiðdalur. Immediately above it, another smaller waterfall lands on a rock shelf before the river passes beneath a small natural stone arch, giving the site an especially unusual appearance.

FIRST-HAND ADVICE

Our practical tips

Look carefully above the main waterfall for the smaller cascade and natural stone arch.

Combine Flögufoss with Beljandi on the same Breiðdalur outing.

The walk is short enough to make this worthwhile even on a Ring Road travel day.
