Laufás
Exceptional historic turf-farm and church site on the eastern shore of Eyjafjörður.
About Laufás
Laufás has been an important church and farm site since Iceland’s early settlement period. The surviving turf farmhouse represents a prosperous 19th-century vicarage and is furnished with period household objects, while the neighbouring church adds another layer to the site’s long history.
Our practical tips
✓Allow enough time to go inside rather than only photographing the turf roofs.
