El Centro de Emigración Islandesa se fundó en 1996 para preservar la historia de los islandeses que emigraron a Norteamérica y para fortalecer los vínculos con sus descendientes. Gestiona varias exposiciones en edificios históricos de Hofsós y también ofrece recursos genealógicos.
