About Þvottá

Þvottá es uno de los yacimientos paleocristianos más importantes del este de Islandia. Alrededor del año 1000, Síðu-Hallur acogió aquí al misionero Þangbrandur, quien fue bautizado junto con su familia en el río. En los alrededores se encuentran el Pozo de Þangbrandur, restos de un antiguo cementerio y un monumento que conmemora la adopción del cristianismo por parte de Islandia.
