Hallormsstaðaskógur è la foresta più grande d'Islanda e uno dei paesaggi naturali più insoliti del paese. Il bosco di betulle autoctone di Hallormsstaður è stato protetto nel 1905, diventando così la prima foresta nazionale islandese.
