Iceland could be about to introduce a new tourist fee for three of the most famous attractions on the Golden Circle 🇮🇸
Under a new proposal announced in Iceland, visitors who aren't Icelandic tax residents could be required to purchase a nature and infrastructure pass covering Þingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss.
The proposed annual pass would cost 4,500 ISK, with a reduced winter price of 3,000 ISK, and the current proposal could see the scheme introduced from May 2027.
But there's one VERY important thing to know: this is currently a proposal. The new fee is not in force yet, and details could change before it is introduced.
In this video, we explain:
🇮🇸 Which Iceland attractions could be affected
💰 How much the proposed fee would cost
🎟️ What the pass would cover
❄️ The proposed winter price
🚗 What could happen to existing parking charges
📅 When the scheme could begin
🌋 What it could mean for your Iceland holiday
