About Breiðdalssetur

Breiðdalssetur contains exhibitions covering the remarkable geology beneath East Iceland, including the use of drill cores to investigate lava sequences and volcanic systems. Dedicated rooms explore volcanologist George P. L. Walker, whose research in East Iceland contributed to understanding plate tectonics, and Breiðdalur-born scholar Stefán Einarsson.
