Brimketill
Natural ocean-carved lava pool on the exposed coast west of Grindavík, surrounded by pounding Atlantic surf.
About Brimketill
Brimketill is a naturally eroded basin carved into the coastal lava by relentless Atlantic waves. Icelandic folklore associates the pool with the giantess Oddný, who was said to bathe here. A developed viewing platform now gives visitors a close view over the formation while emphasising the tremendous power of the surrounding ocean.
