WHY VISIT

About Brimnes

Brimnes lies beneath Brimnesfjall on the outer northern shore of Seyðisfjörður. The farm was historically isolated, with the sea providing its main transport connection for much of its inhabited history. The surrounding area contains traces of former settlement and extensive views towards the sea and across the fjord.

FIRST-HAND ADVICE

Our practical tips

Go in clear weather because the views across the outer fjord are a major part of the hike.

Look for traces of the former settlement rather than expecting intact historic buildings.
