WHY VISIT

About Búlandstindur

Búlandstindur rises 1,069 metres above the southern side of Berufjörður and is believed to be around eight million years old. Its remarkably symmetrical pyramid shape has made it the symbol of Djúpivogur. Local traditions connect the mountain with supernatural powers, and folklore says wishes may be granted there around the summer solstice.
