Coast Guard Vessel Óðinn
Preserved Icelandic Coast Guard vessel offering guided tours focused on rescue operations and the dramatic Cod Wars.
About Coast Guard Vessel Óðinn
Óðinn is moored beside Reykjavík Maritime Museum and preserved much as she appeared when handed over to the museum in 2008. Guided tours explore cramped working spaces aboard the vessel while telling stories from her Coast Guard career, including Iceland’s confrontations with Britain during the Cod Wars.
Our practical tips
✓Book or check tour times before visiting because you cannot freely wander through the ship whenever you like.
✓The Cod Wars stories are one of the highlights.
✓People uncomfortable with confined spaces may want to skip the ship itself.
