Northern Drangajökull lies within one of the most inaccessible landscapes in Iceland. The glacier, valleys and surrounding mountains form a huge wilderness between Jökulfirðir, Strandir and Hornstrandir with almost no modern infrastructure.

Getting there and visiting
Access
No normal road access. Reaching the area requires serious wilderness travel. Glacier travel itself should only be undertaken with appropriate professional guidance.
