About Hvítserkur
Hvítserkur is one of North Iceland’s most recognisable coastal landmarks. Centuries of erosion have shaped the 15-metre basalt formation into an unusual arch-like sea stack, while local folklore describes it as a troll turned to stone by the rising sun.

✓The upper viewpoint is worthwhile even if you do not descend to the beach.

✓Look across the surrounding coastline for seals as well as focusing on the sea stack.

Short walk to the main viewpoint; a steeper route leads towards the beach
