About Papey
Papey is a roughly two-square-kilometre island off Djúpivogur and the largest island of the Eastfjords. Its name is traditionally associated with Papar, Irish monks believed to have been present in Iceland before Norse settlement. Today it is particularly known for rich seabird colonies and puffins.
