About Kolbeinstangi Lighthouse
Kolbeinstangi Lighthouse stands just under 20 metres high at Leiðarhöfn. Built in 1942, it retains an unusual exterior finish of light quartz with darker surfaces covered in obsidian gravel. Walking routes from Vopnafjörður provide views over the village and fjord.
