FIRST-HAND ADVICE

Our practical tips

This is a separate eruption site from the 2021 Geldingadalir crater.

Several viewpoints allow you to understand how the 2021 and 2022 lava fields connect.

Use the current official trail map rather than old eruption-era maps found online.
