Oddsskarð
Historic high mountain pass between Eskifjörður and Norðfjörður, now best known for its ski area and traces of the old road connection.
About Oddsskarð
Oddsskarð provided Norðfjörður’s first road connection with neighbouring communities from 1949. The route was notoriously difficult in winter and a 626-metre tunnel was later built at an elevation of approximately 632 metres. Modern road traffic now uses Norðfjarðargöng, while Oddsskarð remains a recreation and skiing area.
Our practical tips
