Eggin í Gleðivík
Famous waterfront artwork of 34 oversized stone eggs representing bird species that nest around Djúpivogur.
About Eggin í Gleðivík
Eggin í Gleðivík is an outdoor artwork by Icelandic artist Sigurður Guðmundsson. Thirty-four large replicas of bird eggs stand along the shoreline on concrete plinths that once supported a pipe between the harbour and fish-processing facilities. Each egg represents a nesting bird found locally.
Our practical tips
✓Walk the full row rather than photographing only the first few eggs.
✓Continue along the waterfront towards Tankurinn and Æðarsteinsviti.
