About Fardagafoss
Fardagafoss lies on the Miðhúsaá river at the foot of Fjarðarheiði. A marked trail climbs from Road 93 towards the approximately 28-metre waterfall, with views back across the Egilsstaðir area. A cave lies behind the waterfall and features in local folklore about a giantess and hidden treasure.

✓The final approach is rougher than the earlier part of the trail, so do not judge the whole walk by its easy beginning.

Access
The trail begins from a parking area beside Road 93 between Egilsstaðir and Seyðisfjörður.
Walking
Approx. 1.3 km each way from the parking area to Fardagafoss.

Most of the marked trail is relatively straightforward, but the final section approaching the waterfall is more challenging.
